What about visas?

Types of Visa

There are many different types of visas available when entering Australia to work as a doctor and we work in close association with registered migration agents to advise on which visa is most applicable to your particular need.

Plexus will assist you to complete all relevant documentation and will liase with the regional office of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) to ensure your application has a smooth passage.

The preferred route for doctors entering Australia temporarily is to use  the Long Stay Business Visa. Plexus staff will ensure that your visa is fast tracked by taking advantage of the priority processing system, which allows us to lodge your application online.

Changing Visas

It is of course possible to change visas if you wish to stay longer in Australia, extend your contract or change posts when your contract expires. Plexus is able to liase with the Dept of Immigration and advise you on your different options at this stage as well as to work with your migration agent to launch a permanent migration visa application if that is your chosen route.

Training Posts

If you are entering Australia to undertake a supervised training post then it may be best to apply for an Occupational Trainee Visa which is valid for a period of 12 months. Again our staff will be able to help you decide on which visa would be most suitable.

Family

It is always possible to bring family members with you while you are working in Australia. Please feel free to discuss any additional needs they might have with your consultant or with one of our medical directors. Plexus team members have been through the system, as well as undergoing extensive training, so will be able to answer any queries you might have.
